First day of Kindergarten

Today was my first day of Kindergarten. You all may be wondering how I made it through NAIT and CLBI if I never even went to kindergarten. Well you see, my parent's noticed that I was a brilliant child so they locked me in our castle tower so I would not be forced to work in a Circus at an early age. When I was grown up to the age of 18 my parents let me out of the castle tower and when I came out my hair was so long that someone could have used it as a rope to climb up the tower and save me but I have a tender scalp so we figured it wouldn't work. Anyhow. At the age of 18 I was able to go to school and well now I want to work my way from the begining of school (kindergarten) just for the experience.

Now if you believed that story, I'm sorry, Santa is not real.

Anyhow the truth! I was talking to a lady at bible study who asked me if I wanted to volunteer my free time (seeing as I work only part time) to help out in the kindergarten class. So today was my first day helping out and it was rather funny because at break in the staff room (I finally get to go into the staff room) Teachers were asking me who I was subbing for. It was great. Kids are so funny, I like being able to help out in class rooms. Maybe someday I might take a course that will help me to become a little more valuable in a classroom, a little more knowledgeable. Because I could see this as something I would like to do. Like there is one lady who works with a disabled child and she comes everyday to help out. So that could potentially be fun. humm.. The lady from the bible study turned out to be the principal of the school.. funny, didn't know that. But she said I could come back whenever. So I hope I can make this a bit of a regular thing.

That's all for now.. and no I was not a genius child locked in a Castle tower, just in case you were still wondering... that story was for entertainment sake... mostly for myself.

Our first Christmas Party!

so yesterday night (sat) we had our first Christmas Party of the season. I like Christmas. Anyhow.. Our Christmas party was shared with Friends from our bible study group. Who for those of you that don't know, our Bible study group is a group that meets in the camp's main building and it is just who ever lives around here. Because our camp is so huge, we have people who live in cabins along the lake shore and so they come to this bible study. The funny thing is that they are all almost above the age of 60, except for our boss Kari. So there is a 30-40 year difference kind of thing. But it is great! When we arrived at the house of one of the members we were greeted by that member and his wife and their many pets. They have two dogs that we saw but she talked of more, they were little poodles. Then they had Jack, a talking parrot, who must have been really hungry because all he ever wanted was a piece of pie and when he saw the cookies come out, it was now a cookie. -Never satisfied:P. Anyhow so we started with the meal. Course I didn't tell anyone that I was a Celiac. Like how do you put that into normal conversation. "So Jesus is pretty cool eh?" "Yeah, totally - hey did you know I'm a Celiac?" Not too smooth. So as I watched the preparations I came to notice that almost everything that people brought was covered in unknown sauces with hidden gluten then there were the obvious ones like stuffing in the Turkey. So I grabbed what I could and we brought food that was gluten free so I loaded up, but we made Kapuns and Andreas made the broth twice as strong so it was quite salty. (everyone liked them but I felt like my arteries were clogging so I wonder how they felt) But none the less I love Kapuns and they were good, just not too many. And there were some other dishes like "spuds" It was really funny a pile of people had to share about their dishes before we could eat. So we ate and visited. There was this one guy Adolf who was just decked out he had flashing ties, sequence covered his suspenders and his santa had was backwards or inside out or something. He's just a funny crazy guy. But after super we had our gift exchange which was entertaining. We did it where we could steal from others... Andreas and I have a hard time doing that, especially when your so new to the group, we feel awkward. Oh well. It was a fun time though, and next week we get to go to a play with the group, a nice couple helped us by buying us the tickets to the play. I love being in a group learning from amazing and funny people who have a little bit of wisdom and experience on their side. They are very supportive and I almost am alright with not having friends our age, almost. I wouldn't mind a few and I think Andreas would really like some too. :) Anyhow that's all for now! Next I'll let you know how the play goes and our staff party! Bowling! :)

Blessed

So today, I was having a really horrible week.. yes I know that doesn't fully make sense. Lately Andreas has been working hard at work then coming home and working on homework then working on work, and coming home and working on homework. And both of us have not been getting very good sleep, we are thinking that even though it is a blessing to have a mattress, it's sad when the mattress keeps you awake all night (very unproductive). So for the last week here we have been tired and cranky and not really spending any time with each other and today it finally hit me. Today the scanner at work broke three times in the first 30 mins of the day, and by noon time I had built up a whole truck load of poo in my inerself. So being upset I did not eat lunch and went back to work just as angry and upset as before, and just as hungry. So when Andreas stopped in a little after lunch I mentioned to him that I was still hungry and it was effecting my work. about 5 mins later he came back with a smorge of random food. it made my day go a lot better to know that someone was still thinking about me, and even though the scanner later died and it made me very frustrated, I'm still alive. It's been an interesting jaunt so far in this race, a lot of ups and downs but we're still chugging!

Photo of Christmas Tree

Sorry I did take a picture of the tree with intentions of sticking it up here, but I completely forgot. So here it is!.... sorry it's sideways, but if you just detach your head and tilt it to the side, it works well!
